HCL Sametime, API, Integration, transcript, IA

I have just returned from Engage, which took place in The Hague, Netherlands.

This year, instead of attending the official HCL session on the roadmap, I chose to attend as many sessions offered by Business Partners as possible.

Why? Because that's where the magic happens (and you can always attend the HCL webinar about the roadmap and releases, or review the slides).

One of the sessions was offered by Carsten Gericke.

It was held after the session by Trevor Tallackson from HCL.

The room was packed with HCL admins.

The most important takeaways were:

HCL Sametime has a full set of endpoints in its API, ready to be integrated.

We witnessed integrations with SMS, telephony, Teams, Telegram, WhatsApp and Java applications.

AI is just another integration.

As HCL Sametime is Domino-independent and API-aware, and has already been rebuilt by the group, we watched a demo with a bot on Sametime Chat interacting with AI and WhatsApp.

HCL Teams has done a wonderful job. Carsten Gericke has also done a wonderful job.

HCL, for their part, announced the new features for the next version of Sametime.

Version 12.0.3 is coming this year and is easy to upgrade thanks to Docker.

Transcripts will be included using on-premises LLM and AI.
